Inquiry formed over doctors’ clash at DMCH

Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH)A probe committee has been formed to investigate a clash between two groups of doctors at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) late on Tuesday.
Dhaka Medical College Principal Abul Kalam Azad said a seven-member committee has been tasked to investigate who are responsible for this incident and it is scheduled to give its report by five days.
The clash left six people injured.
Urology Department Registrar HM Afzalul Haque Rana, Nephrology Consultant Mostafizur Rahman Rizvi, ENT Department’s Abdullah Al Marzut were treated at the emergency department with injuries.
The clash erupted in the evening on Tuesday, when the Dhaka Medical College was celebrating its founding anniversary.
Sources said, an argument broke out between two groups of doctors when Bangladesh Medical Association Secretary General Mostafa Jalal Mahuddin arrived at the celebrations held at the DMCH premises.
At one point, a clash erupted between the two groups injuring several.
Soon after the clash, leaders of several doctors’ organisations arrived on the campus and held talks to solve the crisis.
