Bangladesh Italian Marble Works Ltd, the owner of Moon Cinema Hall in Waizghat area of Old Dhaka, has given a proposal to the government to hand over its ownership to the Muktijoddha Kalyan Trust (Freedom Fighters' Welfare Trust).
In the proposal, the company said it will hand over the properties of the cinema hall, valued at Tk 1 billion, to the Freedom Fighters' Welfare Trust upon payment of value.
The Appellate Division bench led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain on Sunday (Aug 18) asked the Italian Marble Works Ltd to submit its written proposal on Aug 22.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam stood for the state and Barrister Ajmalul Hossain QC stood for the petitioner.
