A devastating fire rages through several thousand shanties at Dhaka's Mirpur-7 slum on Friday (Aug 16) night leaving thousands of people with nothing other than charred valuables, and despair. Out of all tragedy, something always comes up that brings a smile to us. Like this, when the fire was burning everything to ground a boy was seen standing and surprisingly he holds a kitten.

The boy, who identified himself as Shwan, took shelter at a nearby house along with others. When the fire started he, too, escaped. But out of love, he didn't leave his cute kitten behind and brought the little animal with him. When asked what's the name of your kitten? "I haven't given a name yet," replied Shwan, a ninth-grader of a nearby school. As the duty calls, I left Shawn there and went to another place for taking more pictures of the fire.
