On Eid day afternoon, a group of young people went to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) with cards, roses and chocolates to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses, working day and night to serve the Dengue patients.
The main engineer of the initiative is Fuad Ahsan Chowdhury. He says: “For some time, I felt that doctors and nurses deserve a special note of thanks for the superhuman effort they have been putting in to serve Dengue patients. The cards, roses and chocolates express our gratitude.”
Needless to say, the doctors and nurses working on Eid day were surprised and ecstatic to have received such an acknowledgement.
The group also distributed chocolates among 300 children in the hospital with the permission of doctors.
Sayed Jahan, a friend of Fuad, adds: “We have been reading about the efforts put in by doctors and nurses and thought that such dedication must be acknowledged.”
We went as members of the general people and not part of any political party or medicine company, he added.
“The doctors were surprised when they found that we came as part of a group of friends inspired by their tenacity and sense of duty.”
