Age limit for teacher recruitment in non-govt institutions now 35The government has fixed the maximum age limit at 35 for recruiting teachers at non-government schools and colleges.
The ‘MPO (monthly pay order) Policy-2018’ issued Thursday stipulated this while the retirement age has been fixed at 60 years.
No teachers can renew or continue the job on contract after they reach the retirement age, it says.
It also says the government can transfer a teacher when it deems necessary.
The Secondary and Higher Education Division (SHED) under the Ministry of Education issued the policy.
Speaking to Bangla Tribune, SHED Joint Secretary Salma Jahan said, “The MPO Policy has been issued and the age limit for teacher recruitment in non-government institutions has been fixed at 35 years”.
No teacher will be appointed without the registration certificate and appointment will made in complying with Non-Government Teachers' Registration and Certification Authority’s (NTRCA) merit list or nomination or selection process.
Only one third division or equal degree in educational life will be accepted under the new policy.
