Autopsy finds yaba tablets inside body

Representational imageForensics at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) have found packages containing more than 200 Methamphetamine-based Yaba tablets inside a body while performing autopsy.

“A total of 11 packets, each containing some 20-25 tablets, were found inside the stomach of a body which came in from Motijheel on Saturday (Apr 27) morning,” said DMCH Forensic chief Prof Dr Sohel Mahmud.

The incident has been reported to the Motijheel police, he said.

Motijheel police OC Omar Faruk said, “A man was found lying unconscious in front of Motijheel’s Biswas Tower around 5:30am on Friday (Apr 26). People were pouring water on his head. Police later took the man to Mugda General Hospital. He died around 11am while receiving treatment. The body was later sent to DMCH for autopsy.”

The deceased has been identified as one Julhas from Netrokona’s Kendua Upazila, who was in his mid-30s, said the police officer.
