Members of the Customs intelligence have recovered 48 gold bars weighing over 15kgs at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The gold bars were found at a dustbin beside the gents’ washroom in the no 7 boarding bridge area of the airport around 1:30am on Saturday (Mar 23).
The gold bars were found wrapped in white scotch tape in nine packets.
The approximate value of the gold bars is estimated nearly Tk 78.6 million.
“Legal actions will follow over the incident,” said Dr Shahidul Haque, Director General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate.
