Narcotics officials have arrested the man, who operated the crystal meth lab, busted last month in Dhaka.
Thirty-two-year-old Hasib Mohammad Rashid was arrested on Saturday (Mar 16) from the capital’s Mirpur.
On Feb 28, the Department of Narcotics (DNC) busted the laboratory, at the basement of a six-storey building at the city’s Jigatala.
Officials said then the facility was used to produced crystal methamphetamine, which goes by the street name of ‘ice’, and MDMA or Methyl enedioxy methamphetamine, commonly known as Ecstasy.
Official had seized a huge amount of ice and MDMA as well as chemicals and machineries from the lab and made three arrests, but the lab owner Hasib managed to flee, DNC Assistant Director Md Khurshid Alam said on Saturday.
“In an effort to avoid arrest, Hasib changed his looks by shaving his head and growing a French cut beard,” he said before adding that the DNC would seek custody of the suspect in court for interrogation.
