A man has been held with a shotgun at domestic terminal of Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal Airport.
The arrested, Nurul Islam, a bodyguard of the Probashi Palli Group chairman, was detained by the Civil Aviation Authority around 5pm on Saturday.
“Nurul was detained as he did not declare having a weapon with him. There will be legal action taken against him,” Shahjalal Aviation Security Director Noor Siddique told Bangla Tribune.
The Probashi Palli Group Chairman, Mahidur Rahman, came to the airport with his bodyguard to fly on a Jessore bound Novo Air plane. During the security check the authorities came to know about the possession of the shotgun.
