The High Court has stayed the probe proceedings in a case filed under the ICT Act against photographer Shahidul Alam.

The bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil stayed the case for the next three months on Thursday (Mar 14) after hearing a stay order plea by the defendant.

Barrister Sara Hossain moved the stay-order plea before the court while the state was represented by Attorney General Mahbubey Alam.

On Wednesday, the same bench asked the trial court hearing the case against Alam to forward all the case dockets.

The writ sought the legality of the case and a stay order on the probe.

Shahidul Alam was arrested in a case filed under Section 57 ICT Act on Aug 5, 2018, few hours after he had given an interview to Qatar-based television channel Al Jazeera on the student protests for road safety.

Later on Nov 15, he was granted bail by the High Court.
