Police filed the case against 10-12 unidentified people on Thursday (Feb 21).
“A case has been filed against unnamed people on allegations of negligence,” said Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Ibrahim Khan.
“Actions will be taken after a probe,” he added.
On Wednesday (Feb 20), a deadly blaze ripped through Old Dhaka’s Chawkbazar, claiming at least 70 lives and injuring many more.
The fire reportedly originated on the ground floor of a building housing a chemical warehouse.
It quickly spread and morphed into a full-scale conflagration after a gas cylinder in a pick-up van exploded and gutted at least five buildings.
