A court in Dhaka rescheduled Feb 17 for the submission of investigation report in the case filed over the murder of secularist writer-blogger Avijit Roy.

As the Investigation Officer of the case Monirul Islam failed to submit the probe report on the scheduled date on Wednesday (Jan 16), the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sharafuzzaman Ansari fixed the new date, Shabagh police Sub-Inspector Mahmudur told Bangla Tribune.

Some assailants hacked Avijit Roy to death at Dhaka University premises after Avijit and his wife came out of the Ekushey Boi Mela on Feb 26, 2015.

Avijit’s father, Ajay Roy, later filed a case against unidentified assailants with Shahbagh Police Station.
