Bangladesh Press Club in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has called for setting up media wings in Bangladesh embassy and consulate operating in the country.

Abu Dhabi-based embassy and a consulate in Dubai provide consular services to nearly 700,000 Bangladeshi expatriates living in the Gulf country.

Members of the Press Club recently had an interaction with Consul General Iqbal Hossain Khan and floated the idea of introducing media wings in the Bangladesh missions.

The consul general congratulated Bangladeshi expat media professionals on forming the press body and assured them of all kinds of assistance.

“For the welfare of Bangladeshi expatriates, Bangladesh Press Club, embassy and consulate will work together,” said Khan.

He also stressed on utilizing the Bangladeshi community to undertake development initiatives.
