Loan shark Samsuzzaman Sentu has been arrested from the capital’s Darussalam area in Mirpur.
The arrest was made on Tuesday (Dec 18) night as several cases have been filed against Sentu at different police stations in the capital, said Shah Ali police OC Mohammad Salauddin Mia on Wednesday (Dec 19).
“Sentu has been previously sued under the Explosives Act, as well as for violence and anti-state activities,” said Mohammad Salauddin Mia.
“Besides there are allegations of loan sharking, fraud, cheating against him,” he added.
Sentu’s uprising in the world of sabotage and extortion happened somewhere in the eighties. A residence from capital’s Darussalam area in Mirpur, Sentu, used to control the city’s Gabtoli Bus Terminal from 1985 to 2007.
Police arrested Sentu after Bangla Tribune published a series of special reports on him.
Complains have been filed against him at the Prime Minister's Office along with Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Home Ministry and Police Headquarters.
