Another batch of women workers, who went to the Middle East hoping for better lives, has returned home from Saudi Arabia.

A total of 24 women landed at the Shahjalal International Airport in the capital in a Saudi Airlines flight on Friday night.

All 24 women worked as domestic help in Saudi Arabia and two of them are said to be mentally challenged, according to people familiar about the returnees.

The women said that they returned home as their employers didn’t pay them properly and even physically tortured them among other reasons.

Laila Akter, one of the returnees who hails from Madaripur, told Bangla Tribune, “The extent of torture they are made to endure, authorities should stop sending workers to the country.”

She also showed marks of torture that her employers inflicted on her.
