Sohel Rana Biswas was held by with 12 bottles of phensedyls, Tk 4.4 million, bank cheques worth Tk 13 million, fixed deposit receipts (FDR) worth Tk 20 million and others financial documents from a Mymensingh-bound train on Friday.The jailer of Chattogram Central Jail has been suspended a day after his arrest.
On Friday, police in Kishoreganj’s Bhairab Upazila detained Jailer Sohel Rana Biswas with 12 bottles of phensedyl, Tk 4.4 million, bank cheques worth Tk 13 million, fixed deposit receipts (FDR) worth Tk 20 million and others financial documents from a Mymensingh-bound train.
Assistant Inspector General (administration) of Prison Department Abdullah al Mamun told Bangla Tribune, “We have suspended him on Friday (Oct 26) and informed the Chattogram authorities over the phone.”
“A written order will be issued on Sunday (Oct 28),” he added.

Kishoreganj police have sought a seven-day remand to question Sohel in two cases filed under Narcotics Control Act and Money Laundering Prevention Act, Bhairab Railway police OC Abdul Majid told Bangla Tribune.
The prison authorities also started departmental measures against Sohel.
“Process is underway to file a departmental case and we are cooperating with police into the investigation,” said Mamun.
