The jailer of Chattogram Central Jail has been detained along with 12 bottles of phensedyls and Tk 4.4 million in Kishoreganj, police said.
Jailer Sohel Rana Biswas was nabbed by Railway Police from Mymensingh-bound train ‘Bijoy Express’ in Kishoreganj’s Bhairab Upazila on Friday (Oct 26).
Bhairab Railway police OC Abdul Majid told Bangla Tribune, “Tipped-off, we detained a drug dealer from Bijoy Express, coming from Chattaogram.”
Police seized 12 bottles of phensedyls, Tk 4.4 million, bank cheques worth Tk 13 million, fixed deposit receipts (FDR) worth Tk 20 million and others financial documents from his possession.
Upon detention, the man introduced himself as the jailer in Chattagram prison, which the OC said local police have confirmed.
Sohel was his way to home with the drug and money, according to police.
Police were processing to sue the jailer under Narcotics Control Act and Money Laundering Act, the OC said.
