‘Qualified teachers essential for development of education sectors’

Education Minister Nurul Islam NahidWe need more qualified teachers for the development of the education sector of the country, said Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid.
He made the remarks at an event for “World Teacher’s Day” at the capital’s Army Golf Garden auditorium on Friday (Oct 5).
“We have prioritized the expansion of technical and vocational education to ensure better access of students to job markets,” the minister said.
“In order to transform Bangladesh into an economically developed country, we have targeted a 30 per cent enrolment in technical education by 2030,” he added.
“Our aim is to turn Bangladesh into a middle-income country by developing skilled human resources through knowledge-based education.”
The minister emphasized the importance of using ICT in the classroom said that to make their endeavours successful the teachers have to be well trained, motivated and technology-friendly.
Nahid said that the teachers have been given multiple benefits and has called for them to do their job with utmost sincerity as they are the ones responsible for building up the future generation.
