10 caught red-handed with fake MBBS question papers

Police have detained 10 people including guardians for buying and selling question papers for the medical entrance examinations on Thursday (Oct 4).
Deputy Commissioner Md Mashiur Rahman told Bangla Tribune that fake question papers for the MBBS entrance exams, a few books and Tk 12,000 in cash were seized during a raid at the capital’s Mohakhali area.
Among the detainees Dhaka University student Ashikur Rahman, Daffodil International University student Ahsanul Haque and Abul Hasan Shanto were identified as sellers while Jahidul Islam Rony, Rakibul Hasan Hridoy and Mahima Afroze and guardians-Khalilur Rahman, Md Mahbubur Rahman, Abdul Mannan and Hasina Akhter were the buyers, police said.
The sellers admitted that they proposed to sell the question papers on a facebook group. The guardians spoke to them directly and agreed to buy the papers for Tk 1.2 million.
“All three sellers are frauds,” said Mashiur adding that the possibility of question papers leaking out has decreased as the law enforcers have become more alert.
The medical entrance exams for 2018-19 session took place on Friday (Oct 5)morning with 69,919 students vying for 10,300 seats.
