20 quota reform protesters get bail

Representational imageCourts in Dhaka have granted bail to 20 students arrested on different charges during the protest for reform to quota system in government jobs.
The court decisions came on Monday (Aug 20).
All students except Rashed Khan, one of the joint conveners of Bangladesh General Student’s Right Protection Council, were bailed in four separate cases filed with Shabagh and Ramna police stations over obstructing police’s duty and carrying sabotage acts during the protest.
Rashed got bail in a case filed with Shabagh police under the ICT Act.
Students and job-seekers under the banner of the Council have been demonstrating for the quota reform since February this year.
