Anti-Corruption Commission, ACC, is questioning, engineer Kamruzzaman and Mahbubur Rahman, two former MDs of corruption tainted Barapukuria coal mining company.
ACC’s deputy director, Pranab Kumar Bhatyacharya, said: “they were summoned with a notice and are being quizzed since 10 am, Sunday morning.”
On 24 Jul last, MD of Boropukuria lodged a case at Parvatipur thana over the disappearance of extracted 1 lakh 44 thousand 644 metric tonnes of coal.
Recently removed MD, engineer Habib Uddin Ahmed, company secretary, Abul Kashem, and seventeen others were accused of corruption over a prolonged period of time, the case sheet said.
