Server glitch disrupts ticket sales at Kamalapur

Kamalapur Rail Station, DhakaTechnical glitch with railway’s server disrupted sales of tickets on Saturday, the fourth day of sales of advance tickets for Eid journeys, at the central railway station in capital Dhaka.
Sales were halted for at least an hour at the Kamalapur Railway Station leaving thousands of queuing customers in difficulties.
Counters opened at 8am and around 10:30am, a glitch with ticketing server erupted causing sales to halted for an hour, said Kamalapur Station Manager Sitangshu Chakravarty.
Ticket sales resumed after 11:30am, he added.
Advance Eid train ticket sale began on Wednesday (Aug 8).
On Saturday (Aug 11), tickets to journeys on Aug 20 are made available. Sales for tickets before Eid holidays ends on Sunday (Aug 12), when tickets for Aug 21 will be sold.
Besides, the return tickets for the journey of August 24 will be available on August 15 and for August 25 on August 16, August 26 on August 17, August 27 on August 18 and for August 28 on August 19.
Besides, nine pairs of special trains will run on different routes on the occasion of Eid.
There will be 1,402 coaches with 229 locomotives.
Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway NirapattaBahini (RNB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will be deployed at all the big stations to prevent the sale of tickets in black market while the deputy commissioners concerned will conduct mobile courts.
Meanwhile, plying of Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka Maitree Train will remain suspended on August 21, 22 and the Bandhan express on August 23.
