The student protest for safe roads entered the seventh straight day on Sunday (Aug 5). Students form Dhaka University, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) also joined the demonstration.
Police lobbed tear shells near Pilkhana, Science Laboratory and City College to disperse students.
Activists of ruling Awami League’s wings Bangladesh Chhatra League and Jubo League launched a series of attacks on the agitating students. Several journalists were also injured.
