Suspension of public transport operations has continued on Sunday as the owners and workers claimed that they are not feeling safe on the road.
No bus operate from Mohaklahi, Gabtoli or Sayedabad bus terminals today.
Mohakhali Bus Terminal Owners Association Presdient Abul Kalam said, the situation remains the same.
“When we feel safe we will start operation. We did not suspend the operation, but we cannot operate as our vehicles were vandalised,” he said.
Meanwhile, the informal strike called by the transport sector causes immense suffering to commuters.
Many are seen going to their workplace by walking.
A student campaign is ongoing for the last eight days as two students were killed by a Jabale Noor bus on Airport Road last Sunday.
They demanded safe road and punishment of the bus driver.
