HC has granted bail to Apan Jewellers owner Dildar

Dildar Ahmed SelimThe High Court has granted bail to Apan Jewellers owner Dildar Ahmed Selim in a money laundering case filed by the National Board of Revenue (NBR). His lawyers said there was no restriction on the release of Dildar. The High Court bench comprising of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Shahidul Karim passed the order on Sunday (Jan 21).
Advocate AM Aminuddin and Barrister Mehdi Hasan Chowdhury appeared for the accused petitioners while Deputy Attorney General Farhad Hossain represented the state.
The Appellate Division rejected the state’s appeal against the bail granted to the three owners of Apan Jewellers Dildar Ahmed, Gulzar Ahmed and Azad Ahmed on January 8.
The High Court granted bail to three owners in three cases on December 14. The court had adjourned the remaining two cases.
The High Court had issued a ruling on November 22 to know why the three owners of Apan Jewellers would not be granted bail in the money laundering case on November 22. At the same time, it demanded response to the government through Dhaka Deputy Commissioner.
