Snubbing BNP’s insistence that the Prime Minister (Sheikh Hasina) should come up with an outline of polls-time government, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said the ruling party would rather like to examine what BNP presents in the regard.

“The BNP leaders have asked the premier for a roadmap. But she is not going to disclose it. BNP is supposed to do that. We are waiting to see what roadmap they present,” Obaidul, also the minister of Road Transport and Bridges Ministry, said during an impromptu press conference at his secretariat office on Sunday (Jan 21).

He said, “It is BNP’s right to participate in the election. Awami League has nothing to do about it. But the way the BNP leaders speak of the matter, it seems the Election Commission (EC) is not impartial. The EC has successfully held an impartial election of Rangpur City Corporation. Even after this, if they (BNP) do not think that EC is impartial, what can we do about it? ”
