Khaleda's bail verdict in Cumilla arson case fixed for July 2

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia (Photo: Nashirul Islam)Hearing over the state’s leave to appeal against High Court’s six month bail order given to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, in two arson cases in Cumilla, had concluded.
The Supreme Court has scheduled July 2 for giving a verdict.
On Sunday (June 24), a four-member appellate division bench, led by Syed Mahmud Hossain, fixed the date after hearing.
Attorney General, Mahbubey Alam, represented the state while Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, AJ Mohammad Ali, Zainul Abedin and Mahbub Uddin Khokon for Khaleda Zia.
The High Court granted a six month bail to BNP Chairperson, Khaleda Zia, in two cases filed in Cumilla on May 28. Later, a petition was filed with the appellate division, seeking a stay on the bail order.
The case was filed in Cumilla court over an incident when seven people were killed and 25-26 others injured after a bus was torched at Jagmohanpour in Comilla's Chouddagram Upazila on February 2, 2015.
