Mosaic-with-the-new-flag-Bangladesh-Liberation-WarThe Liberation War affairs ministry will soon write to the home ministry and deputy commissioners across the country to collect and archive the list of Razakars.
The home ministry will receive a Demi-Official (DO) letter to archive the list of Razakars, Al Badr, Al Shams and the anti-liberation forces.
The issue was revealed on Sunday (May 26) during the liberation war ministry’s Parliamentary committee meeting.
During its last meeting, the committee also recommended including those members in the list who were given the parliamentary seats of the elected Awami League leaders in 1970.
“We have asked the home ministry and the deputy commissioners to collect the list of Razakars,” said Kazi Firoze Rashid, who sits on the committee.
He added that the committee does not deem publishing the list of war collaborators to be against the law.
Another member of the committee Rafiqul Islam echoed and added that if there are indeed any laws, it should be brought to light.
