Dawra-e-Hadith exams halted over question leak

The Qawmi Madrasa Education Board has announced scrapping of the ongoing Dawra-e-Hadith exams over reports of question leak.

Al-Haiatul Ulya Lil-Jamiatil Qawmia Bangladesh, the government recognized education board for the qawmi madrasas, announced the decision on Saturday (Apr 13) morning following an emergency meeting, convened to address the matter.

Reports of question leak surfaced in a number of placed during exams of the Dawra-e-Hadith degree, which was recently recognised as the equivalent to a Masters Degree in Islamic Studies and Arabic in mainstream education.

The meeting, which was presided over by Allama Ashraf Ali, the Co-Chairman of the board, also cancelled the central exams of BEFAQ. The Hadith (Taqmil) exams will be held from Apr 23 to May 3.

The board members discussed strategies to prevent question papers from getting leaked in the futures, said people familiar with the matter.
