The body of firefighter Sohel Rana, who sustained serious injuries during Banani FR Tower fire rescue operation died at a hospital in Singapore early on Monday, arrived at Dhaka Airport late on Monday (Apr 8).
“The body of Shohel Rana arrived here by a flight of Singpore Airlines around 10pm at the airport and the senior officials of Life Saving Force received the body,” Assistant Superintendent of police Sahabuddin of airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn).
Rana died at 2.17am (BST) on Monday (Apr 8) while being treated at a hospital in Singapore.
His namaz-e-janaza will be held at the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters’ on Tuesday (Apr 9).
Later, the body will be sent to his ancestral home at Keruail in Kishoreganj’s Itna upazila for burial.
Shohel Rana sustained serious injuries on Mar 28 while rescuing people from the Banani’s FR Tower fire that claimed 26 lives and left many injured.
