Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) from the post-operative unit of Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
Previously on Wednesday (Mar 20), Quader underwent a successful by-pass surgery.
The minister’s information officer Md Abu Naser said in a media statement on Thursday (Mar 21) that his health was improving.
Quoting Dr Abu Nasar Rizvi, Director of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Naser said the doctors are hopeful about shifting him to the cabins if this rate of recovery persists.
Quader, who serves as the ruling party’s general secretary was diagnosed with coronary artery blockages after he fell ill and was taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Sunday (Mar 3) morning.
He was flown to Singapore by an air ambulance on Mar 4 where he has been receiving treatment.
