A case has been filed over the death of a student of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury, who was killed in a road accident early Tuesday (Mar 19).
The case was filed by victim’s uncle late on Tuesday (Mar 19), Gulshan police Assistant Sub-Inspector Anamul Haque told Bangla Tribune.
Police arrested 24-year-old Sirajul Islam, the driver of the Supravat Paribahan-operated bus, soon after the incident took place.
Death of Abrar sparked protest among the students that ended with the calling for a countrywide class boycott for Wednesday (Mar 20) to press their demands.
Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury—son of Arif Ahmed Chowdhury of the Bashundhara area—was killed in a road accident in front of Dhaka's Jamuna Future Park early on Tuesday (Mar 19).
Abrar was an Honours first-year student of the International Relations Department at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP).
