Cross-border cruise lovers will be able to travel to Kolkata through river from Dhaka by the end of this month.

‘MV Madhumoti’, operated by Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTA), will start operating from Mar 29, the state-owned entity said in a statement on Wednesday (Mar 13).

The service that will initially start on a trial basis will be operable under the Bangladesh-India naval protocol agreement.

The ‘MV Madhumoti' will start for Kolkata on Mar 29 from Narayanganj’s Pagla in the Barisha-Mongla-Sundarban-Antihara-Haldia route.

Accommodation charges have been fixed at Tk 15,000 for Family Suite (two people), Tk 5000 per person for First Class, Tk 10,000 for two people in Deluxe class, Tk 8,000 per person in Economy chair and Tk 1500 per person for Deck.
