Boycotting panels to demonstrate for fresh polls Tuesday

Candidates from panels boycotting the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) polls have called a protest on Tuesday (Mar 12) to press their demand for fresh election.
They will demonstrate on the Raju Sculpture premises boycotting classes demanding a fresh election and resignation the university vice-chancellor.
Liton Nandi, vice-president candidate from the Progressive Students' Alliance and Anti-Imperialist Students' Union panel, announced at around 5:30pm.
Earlier in the day, quota reform, independent, Chhatra Federation and other panels altogether held a press conference at the university’s Madhur Canteen where they announced that they boycotted the polls.
Later, they demonstrated at the campus and besieged the DU vice chancellor’s office and residence pressing their demand.
Liton Nandi urged students to take part in Thursday’s demonstration.
“Suspend the announcement of polls result and declare a fresh polls schedule,” Nandi urged the authorities adding, “Otherwise they will continue demonstration demanding the VC’s resignation”.
