The Chief Returning Officer of the DUCSU polls, which has been marred by allegations of widespread irregularities and a blanket boycott, says he’s “embarrassed”.
“I’m personally embarrassed for the incidents took place during the polls,” said Chief Returning Officer SM Mahfiuzur Rahman on Monday (Mar 11).
Rahman’s remarks came while a group of candidates met him after the polls closed.
The candidates filed a complaint over irregularities and demanded to halt on the announcement of result.
“I have heard you but won’t say anything now,” Rahman told them.
The aggrieved candidates blamed Rahman for “making sure Bangladesh Chattra League’s candidates win”.
