Fariha Tasnim had asked her father Md Faisal to return early the night of the fire but he never did.
Faisal, a businessman, has been missing since a blaze razed through the crowded alleys of Chawkbazar on Wednesday (Feb 20).
“I came with my mom and my sister to provide our DNA samples to the CID,” a tearful Fariha told Bangla Tribune in front of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue where the samples were being collected since morning.
“They swabbed our mouth and collected a blood sample from my mother,” she added.
Faisal’s nephew Nazrul Islam said that they have been asked to contact the Chawkbazar police after 2-3 days.
“There has been no news of my uncle since the last two days. We think he’s dead,” said Islam.
Many like Fariha have been running around the hospital morgue, trying to find their loved ones who went missing in the fire that killed at least 70 people.
