Law Minister Anisul HuqJatiya Oikya Front’s demand to hold fresh polls is unconstitutional and a show of disrespect to public verdict, says Law Minister Anisul Huq.

His remarks to the media came on Tuesday (Jan 15) during an event in the capital.

“The demand for fresh polls by the Oikya Front is not all constitutional, rather illogical,” he said.

“People have voted and Oikya Front has no rights to disrespect,” added Huq.

On Allama Shafi’s remarks, the minister said, “With all due respect to him, such statements go against the positive development trend of the country.”

“It is his personal opinion and everyone is entitled to have their own judgment,” he said before adding, “It will not bring any change in the running of the country or in policies for that matter.”

“We will be more committed to women’s rights than we are now,” the minister said.
