After she became the leader of the parliament, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going to meet President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Thursday (Jan 3).

The prime minister is scheduled to meet the president at 4 pm, the party insiders say.

This will be the first meeting of the Prime Minister with the President after Awami League's landslide victory in the national election held on Dec 30.

Earlier of the day, Sheikh Hasina was elected leader of the 11th National Parliament.

The name of the prime minister as head of parliament was proposed by party General Secretary Obaidul Quader which was supported by industry minister Amir Hossain Amu.
