The attack on Oikya Front Convener Dr Kamal Hossain’s motorcade will be investigated, said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
“A general diary has been filed with the police and the matter will be investigated,” he told the media on Saturday (Dec 15) after the end of a flag procession in front of the capital’s Krishibid Institute.
The minister said that Dr Kamal lashing out at the journalists was unacceptable and that his behaviour was “part of Oikya Front’s conspiracy.”
Responding to queries about the arrest of various BNP leaders, he said, “They are not being arrested on any new cases. The law enforcers are arresting them on specific charges as there are arrest warrants against them.”
“The police are thoroughly investigating before making any arrests,” he added.
The Awami League candidate came down hard on BNP, criticising them for shaking hands with Jamaat-e-Islami to win a few seats in the parliament. He termed the choice as “vile.”
