The Election Commission has started allocating electoral symbols to candidates on Dec 10. BANGLA TRIBUNE/Sazzad HossainThe Election Commission has started allocating electoral symbols to candidates running for the national elections slated for Dec 30, reports BSS.
The Deputy Commissioner’s office started allocating symbols around 10am on Monday (Dec 10). Symbols will be allocated for all 300 constituencies throughout the day.
The official election campaigns will begin after the allocations are complete, confirmed EC Joint Secretary Farhad Ahmed Khan.
The candidates will have to stop their campaign 32 hours before polls day. This year the candidates can campaign for 19 days.
The political parties had previously informed the commission about their final candidates via formal letters and Sunday (Dec 9) was the last day for candidates to withdraw their nominations.
