Over 300 retired govt officials meet PM in Ganobhaban

Over 300 retired government officials have made a courtesy call to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Ganobhaban.

On Friday (Dec 7) evening, 307 retired public service holders ranging from different cadres went to Ganobhaban to express solidarity with the Awami League chief’s government, according to sources.

Earlier, 147 retired military officers met the prime minister in Ganobhaban on Nov 27, when they pledged to work for Awami League’s victory after expressing their unwavering support for the ruling party.

Among the retired government service holders, meeting the prime minister on Friday, 65 held the ranks of principal secretary, senior secretary, secretary and chairmen at different commission.

Nine former ambassadors, 45 former additional and joint secretaries, 14 health cadres, 15 education cadres, 27 engineers, 14 former police officials, 11 former officials from forest and post divisions, 13 from tax and information divisions, 11 from telecom, levies, audit, rail and food divisions and 67 ex-officials from agricultural divisions were present in the delegation.

Former Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Mohammad Badiuzzaman, former Chairman of Privatization Commission Molla Waheduzzaman, former principal secretary to the prime minister Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, former Secretary Arastoo Khan and former Secretary MA Kader were present among others.
