The Election Commission is all set to announce the schedule for the 11th National Election, says its Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed.
His remarks came while speaking to the media on Wednesday after a delegation of the ruling Awami League met the chief election commissioner and the four election commissioners.
“The Awami League has advised not to have talks with any more political parties before the announcement of the schedule,” said Ahmed, who attended the talks.
He added that the ruling party called for not deploying controversial officials for electoral duties.
Asked whether public servants will be transferred after the schedules are out, the EC secretary said the matter was yet to be discussed.
Responding to a query, he said, “The law enforcement agencies will take measures if any political party or individual attempts to create chaos after the polls schedule are announced.”
