The recommendation was made in a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Welfare, says a media release by the Parliament Secretariat.
The ministry has been asked by the panel to take necessary measures to ensure it to be in line with the laws.
The recommendation came a day after the government-formed panel recommended scrapping quotas in first and second class government jobs.
Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon told media after meeting, “The law stipulates special privileges for the disabled for getting jobs.”
“Quotas cannot be abolished unless the law is revised,” he added.
A few months ago protests by job-seekers and students erupted across the country demanding reforms to the existing 65 percent quota in public service.
On Jul 2, the government formed a seven-member committee led by the cabinet secretary following an announcement of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
On Apr 11, Hasina announced to abolish quotas in government jobs following a three days of demonstrations, which brought capital Dhaka to its knees.
The panel filed its report on Monday where it suggested abolishing quota system for first and second-class government jobs.
Cabinet Secretary Md Shafiul Alam handed the report to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the cabinet meeting.
