Government is setting up land offices in 10 more upazilas in the three hill districts of Bandarban, Rangamati and Khagrachari.

A total of ten land offices were operational till date in the 26 upazila’s of these three districts with two in Bandarban, six in Khagrachhari and two in Rangamati. As a result, the authorities had a hard time carrying out routine tasks in rest of the upazilas.

The land ministry initiative to set up 10 more land offices aims to ensure proper land management, revenue collection and quick public service in those areas of the three districts.

The ministry recently forwarded a proposal to the cabinet division in this regard which was approved on Sunday (Sept 16) in a secretary committee meeting on administrative development.

Cabinet division secretary told NM Ziaul Alam told Bangla Tribune that committee approved 90 new posts for these offices while the ministry’s proposal sought 10 more.
