Bonna Mirza signs up for 'Ghorgerosthi'

Popular actor Bonna Mirza has signed up for a government-funded film "Ghorgerosthi". According to a press release, the film is an adaptation from a story written by acclaimed writer Hasan Azizul Huq. The filming locations are in remote areas of the Bhairab district. Forty percent of the shooting has already been completed.

She was highly applauded for her eponymous role in "Rabeya", directed by Tanvir Mokammel. The film is still screened on major national holidays in various television channels.
"Pita", "Omar Faruker Ma", "Khandochitra 71", and "Headmaster" are also among her most renowned film projects.
Bonna has also worked in more than 1000 television dramas and worked on stage for several plays. She has worked with all major directors such as Saidul Anam Tutul, Salauddin Lavlu, Badrul Anam Saud, Afsana Mimi, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Animesh Aich, Akram Khan, Golam Sarwar Dodul, Mostofa Kamal Raz, Touqeer Ahmed, Azizul Hakim, Chayanika Chowdhury, Mamtazuddin Ahmed, and many more.
In her long television career, she also has worked in numerous national channel Bangladesh Television production.
On stage, Bonna works with DeshNatok, a member of Group Theatre Federation. "Nityapuran" directed by Masum Reza, "Darpane Sharatshashi: directed by Aly Zaker, and "Dolls’ House" directed by Israfil Shaheen are among her most talked-about plays. Both "Nityapuran" and "Darpane Sharatshashi" have completed their 100th staging.
Bonna has received many awards for her work. She received the India-Bangladesh Friendship Award in 2018, JCI Peace Award in 2017, Canada-Bangladesh Solidarity Award in 2016, Bhashani Memorial Award in 2005, Television Audience Forum Award in 2003, Gold Medal in 2003, and Bachasas Award for Play for Nityapuran in 2001. She has also been nominated two times for the critics’ award in Meril-Prothom Alo Awards.
Additionally, Bonna is a regular speaker in different forums that includes organizations like UN and USAID. She has served as an ambassador for Unicef AIDS preventive campaign.
She has worked as a jury member in different competitions organized by Kumarika, Lux, ULAB, Shishu Academy and many more. For a long period, she was an ambassador of KFC and Pizza Hut.
BonnaMirza also regularly teaches at Charuniram Acting School and Prachyanat School of Acting. Currently, she is working as a brand consultant and head of marketing in a private company.
