Eight people including two teenagers have been electrocuted in Sirajganj, police says.
The incident was reported from Kadail village of the district’s Sadar Upazila.
The deceased are Rafiqul Islam, 30, son of Habibur Rahman, Sanoar Hossain, 33, son of Abdul Hamid, Sajib Ahmed, 15, son of Abdul Halim, , Momin, 35, son of Abul Kashem, Abdullah, 14, son of Abu Taher, Razu Ahmed, 26, son of Aminul Islam, Sattar Hossain, 25, son Megha Sheikh, Habibur Rahman, 25, son of Abul Hossain. All hailed from Kadail village.
The incident happened at 12:30 pm on Tuesday when they came in contact of a live wire while shifting a makeshift shop on the Kadail Primary School playground, leaving them casualties.
Local rushed them to the nearby state-owned hospital in the town.
They were brought dead to the hospital, resident medical officer Dr Faridul Islam told Bangla Tribune.
Sadar police OC Mohammad Daud said, “The bodies have been kept the hospital and will be handed over to the families after autopsy.”
Local administration, however, announced a compensation of Tk 25,000 for each family.
