Jubo League 'leader' killed in 'shootout' with RAB

Forty-five-year-old Khorshed Alam, from the port city's Pathantuli area, died during a gunfight near Agrabad World Trade Centre around 9:30pm on Sunday (Oct 13), RAB said.
Wishing anonymity, a top leader of Jubo League port city unit, told Bangla Tribune that Khorshed was the vice president of the youth body's Pathantuli unit.
RAB-7 assistant director (media) Md Mashkur Rahman told Bangla Tribune, “A RAB team was dispatched to Agrabad area after being tipped off about Khorshed and his aides gathered there.
“They opened fire on the RAB personnel when the force arrived on the spot. As RAB retaliated, the terrorists fled the scene.
“Later, RAB rescued the bullet-hit body of Khorshed from the spot,” Rahman added.
The elite force also recovered a foreign-made pistol, a revolver, a shooter gun and a large amount of ammunition during the raid.
Khorshed was named in as many as eight cases including murder, robbery and extortion, said RAB.
