Awami League joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif has said teacher politics should be banned instead of student politics, reports BSS.
“Teacher politics, not student politics, should be banned,” he said while addressing a triennial council of Sreemangal Upazila Awami League in Sreemangal on Sunday (Oct 13).
Coming down heavily on BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, Hanif said Zia took part in the 1971 Liberation War to implement the agenda of Pakistan.
Tarique Rahman, a son of Zia, earlier said that Chhatra Shibir and Chhatra Dal were same and identical, so BNP-Jamaat and their front organisations could not claim that they were pro-liberation forces, the AL leader added.
Chaired by freedom fighter Askir Miah, the conference was addressed, among others, by AL organising secretary Ahmed Hossain, central working committee members Rafiqur Rahman, Badaruddin Ahmad Kamran and Abdus Shahid, Moulvibazar zila AL president Neser Ahmad and freedom fighter MA Mannan.
