Four people of the same family have been killed after being hit by lightning at Cumilla’s Chandpur.
The incident was reported on Sunday (Oct 6) afternoon, confirmed Chandpur Sadar Hospital RMO Dr Sujauddaula Rubel.
The deceased have been identified as Ahida Begum, her daughters Rehana and Samiha and son Sabbir, all residents of Chandina upazila.
According to locals, Ahida Begum went to visit the banks of River Mohona with her children when they were hit by lightning.
Locals rescued them and took them to Chandpur Sadar Hospital where the duty doctors declared them dead.
