Students of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) students are staging a demonstration demanding the resignation of their Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Khondoker Nasiruddin.

The protest began on the campus around 9:30 am on Thursday (Sept 19).

The students alleged that the vice-chancellor was involved in various misdeeds and irregularities.

They declared that the protest will continue until Professor Khondoker resigns.

This protest began after BSMRSTU authorities revoked the suspension order of second-year Law student Fatema-tuz-Zinia on Wednesday.

Zinia was suspended for her alleged objectionable writings about BSMRSTU on Facebook on September 11.

One of her audio recordings with BSMRSTU vice-chancellor also became viral on social media, which resulted in her suspension.

Zinia worked as the university's correspondent of the Daily Sun newspaper.
